2007-08 DVD Trilogy cover misprint - whoops!

In my haste to get the 07-08 Whole Season Highlights DVD finished, I failed to change the season's years on the printed spine, thanks to Bob Smith-Ward for pointing this out.
You'll probably not notice until you put the DVD case on the shelf next to the rest!

Obviously I will print replacements and will have some with me at the next game, meanwhile there are printable versions available here: Printable PDF of the Whole Cover, Printable PDF of the Spine.

Sorry.

Atherstone Lge Cup away 2nd Dec '08 - Goal Clip

There have been complaints and comments elsewhere from both home and away fans about the persistent foul, personally abusive and confrontational behaviour of a section of the home support at this game.

I only had the vidcam rolling during the game, and not at halftime as I was changing tapes & batteries, but I haven't got the time nor the inclination to go through and apply bleeps where appropriate so the DVD will be unabridged and in the interests of common decency will not be available for sale.

I deliberately tried to concentrate on the action on the pitch so most of what is recorded is sound only.

I don't want to prejudice the opportunity to return with the vidcam for the league match but if anyone, including their chairman if he makes an official request via the club, wants a copy to verify the noises off then contact me and I'll consider it.

Meanwhile here is Stue Herlihy's goal that made it 1-0 in the first half:

Chesham Goals Clips

It was yet another blustery afternoon at the New Windmill Ground, but at least the rain held off.
The Brakes made the best of their chances with two well worked goals.

1-0, Luke Corbett in the first half:

2-0, same again, in the second half:

For glorious super definition thrills from the whole game as well as the emotional half time rememberance of Matt Blunt and the presentation to Daniel Kelly check out the whole match DVD - available from the usual suspects and via the on-line store (see link above).

If I was rude to the Chesham fan who shook the scaffold tower at the end of the game it was because I was afeard of the tripod and camera falling on his mates - some joke!

And finially (thought I'd leave the typo in) - thanks to the several people who retrieved my cap each time it was blown away by the gusty wind.

August League & FA Cup Highlights DVD out now

Probably one of if not the best competitive start to a season since the Brakes came back - both for the 100% record and the way the lads played.

Five wins out of five, 13 goals for 3 against, and great crowds.

The league fixtures stirred a few past Southern League memories:

Starting with a good away win at Chesham against Aylesbury Utd - with the first contender for the goal of the season from Jai Stanley.

The first home game was the unexpected League appearance of Nuneaton Town in a crackingly competitive game.

A straightforward win over Dunstable Town was followed by an emphatic win away at relegated Bromsgrove Rovers.

Then the FA Cup season opened with a good win at home to Staveley Miners Welfare which had us wondering whether we were to see the FA Cup at the NWG sometime later this season?

Watch all the highlights, goals, saves and new haircuts in glorious super definition colour on your own screen - get the DVD at the next game or order on-line.

Thanks again to Paul Edwards for the highlights edit.

It seems video.google also lowers the resolution according to busy times of day - so to see a better quality replay try in the morning or click on the google button at bottom right and then click on "go to Google Video" and then you can use the download video button in the Details tab on the right.
The reason I use video.google is because it's free and it uses disk space on their servers instead of blowing my ISPs quota.

Probably not a lot in it, because, despite the quality of the uploaded clip, google video mashes it a bit - presumably to suit their storage and streaming bandwidth. Still, not bad for a free and advert free service. For better, longer lasting quality, there's always the DVDs!

Meanwhile checkout the feature on the soccer x site, as Geoff was a welcome guest up on the perch - and I think he followed the flight of the ball for the winner better than I did - what a screamer!

2008-09 here we go

Welcome to the new look, slimmed down and easier to maintain Brakes Videos web-site, now in blog format using blogger.com.

Whole match DVDs are available for all the pre-season matches.

The Season Highlights DVD set for last season, 2007-08, will be available in good time for Christmas. The intro has been done, thanks to Phillip, and the discs' contents are being mapped out - then we'll know how many in the set, probably three, and how much room there will be for any extras.

Meanwhile the new season is already underway with an away win against Aylesbury United at Chesham - you'll want to check out Jai Stanley's 35 yard stunner!
